Consent and Forced Marriage

Rachael Kelsey took part today at a Roundtable meeting chaired by The Rt Hon Baroness Butler-Sloss, organised by the National Commission on Forced Marriage UK. The focus of the meeting was on 'Informed Consent to a Marriage' and involved a dozen people from across the UK and Northern Ireland who work in this area. Rachael was presenting on whether we need to look more closely at the concept of consent when we talk about capacity to marry and about the renaissance of consent in related disciplines from the English courts in the last twelve months.
