Calum Sanderson, Trainee Solicitor

Calum is a Trainee Solicitor with SKO and joined us in July 2024. 

He obtained his law degree from the University of Strathclyde and has an LLM (Masters in Law) with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh, where he also undertook his Diploma in Legal Practice. Calum's LLM Dissertation was on the incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in Scots law.

Calum was the winner of the Lord Jones Moot Competition- the annual inter-varsity Scottish Law Students Mooting competition in 2022. He was a member of the Children's Panel between 2019 and 2022 and was a Shop Steward for USDAW between 2020 and 2022. In his role as spokesperson for Living Rent (Scotland's Tenants Union) he appeared regularly in broadcast and print media, dealing particularly with issues around the cost-of-living crisis, housing issues for young people and in relation to the Rent Freeze Bill and emergency COVID measures during the pandemic.
