Jackie Pringle, Consultant

Jackie joined us in 2023 as a Consultant with over 25 years experience practicing Family Law in the Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland.  She is highly experienced as a Child Welfare Reporter, Curator ad litem and Reporting Officer in applications for Permanence and Adoption Orders. She has been appointed across the Lothians in these capacities for well over two decades. Her work encompasses both private and public child law.

Jackie has enormous experience in child law matters in the Sheriff Court and her judgement, wisdom and pragmatism is held in high regard across Scotland, by clients, other family lawyers and the judiciary alike. She routinely conducts her own advocacy and has undertaken multiple proofs annually for over twenty years. Many of her cases have been reported and broken new ground in Scotland.

Jackie is known for her ability to get to the heart of matters swiftly, and for her non-judgemental, fair and direct approach. She is able to support clients through the most difficult times with tenacity and kindness.

Jackie has been an appointed member of Edinburgh Sheriff Court Family Court Users’ Group for over a decade and acts as liaison between solicitors and sheriffs. She has recently been asked to sit on the committee dealing with the roll out of the online application process for civil cases in the Sheriff Court and was formerly a Trustee of the St Andrew’s Children’s Society, an independent adoption and foster care agency with bases in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
